Midsems have started and people are buzy preparing for them .Each and every Ug2 Blogger is dead … i mean even the most frequent blogger (Himank ) dint write a post from last 5 days (Atleast i cant believe it 
) . At one time he used to write a post every day. Look @ IIIT Buzz .. the last post was on Sunday Carnival , that too written by campus hopper ( Many people dint like his post 
). New bloggers (Ug2) just write a single post so that they can be called bloggers .Frequent Blog readers like me are not able to find a good post to read .What happed to smr’s blog ?? Where the hell is Cmdr_Buzz ?? is IIIT Buzz dead ?? Is this the end of Bloggin era ( for Ug2 
) ??? When will this boredom end ??? .. somebody please give me the answers .
PS : Wrote the post just to pass time .

Sorry . My friends keep pestering me to write a non-techy post .So here i go my frnds a non-techy post :-
Every third person in Ug2 is a blogger now ( its a fact ) dont belive me just check this out there are 9 bloggers (out of 20 ) in Cellar itself . So who do you think reads there blogs ??? . Its usually there fellow bloggers or frnds in there batch or maybe frnds outside IIIT . And if you open anyones blog you will surely find about 10 comments on each post . Whoaaa .. so many comments must be a good blog .. this is the impression a passerby usually gets .So what kind of comments do people write . There are some people who read the whole post carefully and then leave a comment realted to the blog . There are some who read the first and last 2 lines of the post and give a comment based on what they read . And the rest , Write somethin like “mast yaar ” ,”great blog there “, “U rocked man keep rocking “, “writing style was awesome “, “I am waiting for ur next post plz write it quickly i am not able to sleep ” , “Ulti Ulti Kathli post ” “hmmmm…now dat was criusly ….i mn, k,…m nt being judgmntl ind least….i mn…hnstly dude…d effort is commndabl…u’v reali told us oldat v need 2 knw abt” (did u understand this one ) , ” blah – blah -blah plz read my blog http://myblog.myserver.com thanx ” .these comments form the maximum number of comments on that post .People write these comments beacause the blogger either threatend him or begged him to write a comment.The guy just opens the blog looks at the titles ,measures the length of the post and says to himself “yeh kaun padega yaar “ and gives a arbit comment listed above .Its really funny to see a blogger threatnin or beggin people on yahoo messenger to read his blog .I am not gonna name anyone in particular .. otherwise i will have to expect bumps after publishing this blogs .

Just a test post to check out how amazing flock is .Flock is a browser which is nearly like mozilla firefox but with better looks and better options . Just like this utility (which i am using to write this post ) by which i can write a blog directly write a post on my blog without opening my wordpress account .And more utilities like uploading images directly to some sites ( like flickr and image bucket ).In short Flock is a amazing browser with great looks and performance of firefox. Its a boon for bloggers with slow internet connection . As you dont need to open it in browser

There is a command line download manager “wget” ( to use it type $wget[enter] ) .This package is usually included in the Fedora distros dont know about others .i used to use this as it was really fast and easy to use . But then sometimes i used to get very slow speeds .So i thought of searching for a better download manager for linux ( preferably command-line ).
With help from google ( ) i managed to find two great download managers
1. AXEL ( command-line)
2. Prozilla ( GUI )
1. AXEL :-
It’s mecanism is simple .It opens more than one HTTP/FTP connection per download and each connection transfers its own, separate, part of the file. It may sound weird, but it works very well in practice. For example, some FTP sites limit the speed of each connection, therefore opening more than one connection at a time multiplies the allowable bandwidth. Be forewarned that some FTP operators don’t like it when you do this. It is better to open the additional connections on several servers and download from all of them simultaneously. Axel supports this feature too. You may either specify a list of mirrors to use or tell the program to search for mirrors.
Installing AXEL :-
For Debian users :-
# apt-get install axel
For Others :-
1. Download the tar file :-
wget http://wilmer.gaast.net/downloads/axel-1.0b.tar.gz
( you will use wget for the last time for this i gurantee u )
2.Untar the tarball :-
tar -zxvf axel-1.0b.tar.gz
3.Configure and compile the code :-
./configure
4. Install Axel :-
make install
To download a file all you gotta do is :-
axel http://somesite.com/something.som
Its very fast than wget … as much as 400% ( varies frm server to sever , file to file )
2.Prozilla
One of the drawbacks of axel is that u cant specify the ftp user name and password .For this u can use prozilla an equally fast downloader comes with a decent gui.
u can either install by using apt ( debian users ) or yum ( others ).Or u can download it frm the offical website
u can use it by typing :-
$ prozhttp://somesite.com/something.som
SO happy downloading
